Our Holiday Card to you

Well since I've been running around to Phoenix, Santa Barbara, Las Vegas, St. George and back to Santa Barbara....I didn't have time to get my holiday card out to everyone. I had good intentions...we got professional pictures taken, but they didn't come out at all (super bugged about that) so, you'll just have to accept this:

Christmas 2009

Here are some pictures from Christmas. Maile and I at the table, Kelsey in her cute red velvet dress, me looking happy as I'm making pie dough, everyone sitting around the dinner table and Grandma and Holly.
Grandma came home on the 23rd which was so nice having her home for Christmas. I think it perked her up being home with everyone, it probably also wore her out. She is doing really good though, she's such a trooper. I love you Gram.
Kelsey got everything a little girl could dream of, a baby doll, a stroller, pots and pans, your baby can read dvd's (which actually work, its amazing!), books and clothes.
We had a great time. I'm sad Christmas is over, 1 month long of Christmas music is just not enough!!!

Ginger Bread Homes

Holly and I had lots of fun making and decorating gingerbread houses. Holly did all the work of baking and rolling the gingerbread dough and all I did was put mine together...thanks Holly. This recipe and cutouts was my mom's when we used to do them as kids. It seriously has been 15 years since we made them and we had fun doing it. For some reason I don't have a picture of Holly's but hers came out super cute too!

Grandma Ruth

My dear 92 old grandma Ruth had open heart surgery today. She went in last week because she was having trouble breathing...she had fluid forming around her lung because one of her valves was too small. After spending a week in the hospital, they decided it was urgent to have the surgery. The last couple days have been extremely scary, especially today since she went in for the surgery this morning at 7 am.

Of course there's still a chance that something bad can happen, but at least the scariest part is over!!! Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Breakfast with Santa

Every year our ward does a breakfast with Santa. I was really hoping to get a picture of Kelsey screaming and crying on Santa's lap, but that didn't happen. As usual Kelsey was cool, calm, collective and happy so here it is. :)

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I'm thankful for my family, my home, the gospel, sunny southern california, a roof over our heads, spicy food and most importantly PUMPKIN PIE and CHRISTMAS MUSIC!

Boston, Ma

We went to visit Evan's parents who are on a temple mission in Boston. I've never been to the East coast and I loved everything about it (well minus the weather). We had so much fun, did the tourist thing and saw some really neat things. Thanks again mom and dad for letting us come visit you, we enjoyed it!

Newport Mansions in Rhode Island

These homes were so amazing. They are the summer homes of the wealthy like the Vanderbilts in the 19th century. They lived here 6 weeks out of the year...must be nice.
Newport is famous for the homes of the wealthiest families in America at the turn of the 19th century. These mansions are aptly named as Homes of the Gilded age; a term coined by Mark Twain to denote the late 1800s 1930 period, when American business tycoons amassed enough wealth and fortune to build lavish, palatial homes. Here are some photos and trivia about these mansions.The Breakers : the 'summer cottage' of Cornelius Vanderbilt II, railroad magnate. Architect - Richard Morris Hunt. Modeled after the seaside palaces of Genoa, the house covers approximately 130000 sq.ft, has 70 rooms and 23 bathrooms. This mansion is aptly named after the waves of the Atlantic crashing onto the rocks. The rooms include a 50 ft wide, long and high Grand Hall, a Music Room, a dazzling 2400 sq ft dining room having twelve enormous, rose alabaster pillars and a Billiards room having a detailed mosaic ceiling and twenty varieties of marble. The Library has a massive marble fireplace acquired from a 16th century French Chateau. The bathtub is carved out of a single piece of marble and has a supply of hot, cold and saltwater tapped directly from the ocean. Bunker Hill Monument

We climbed this amazing tower on Bunker hill that gave you a view of the whole city, beautiful. "The Bunker Hill Monument stands 221 feet tall at Breed's Hill, the site of the first major battle of the American Revolution fought on June 17, 1775." We climbed 294 steps, man it was a lot of work. And I'm a retard, I started running up it at first thinking it would be a breeze, passing people and then I was dying!!! But, I couldn't let the people I just passed, pass me....so I ignored the burning thigh pain, my head spinning from dizziness and trekked on...what an idiot! And to our amazement Connie came with, she was amazing, not too far behind us! Sorry Connie, know that's not the most flattering picture but I had to take it for proof for Michele :)

All About Kelsey

Just some cute pics I snapped of Kels. Oops, she's wearing a Red Coat, wrong side for the Revolutionary War. (I thought we were looking at stuff from the Civil War, just learned yesterday, from Gram and Evan that it wasn't the Civil War. What do I know... :)

Halloween!

Friday night, we attended our ward party where as you can see, Evan got a lot of slack for his costume! I thought he was a good sport. He's always trying to be frugal so I thought, well I have this headband and I can buy you a pink shirt, he said "ok whatever." Haha, sucker. We one best family costume and Kelsey one cutest Ladybug. On Halloween Evan decided to wear his Nacho mask, I guess he wanted to feel like a man. Anyway, it was fun and Kelsey enjoyed her first trick or treating experience. She would say thank you every time someone gave her candy, so cute.

Kelsey's 1st Trip to Disneyland

Kelsey went to Disneyland for the first time last Thursday, and of course it was the happiest place on earth! Jill and Landon came with and it was so cute how they both loved on eachother. Mostly Kelsey loving to hug on him and they would hold hands all the time. If they ever get married in the future, we sure have cute pictures for them! Kelsey loved Dumbo she was saying 'weeee' the whole time. We went on Alice in Wonderland and Pirates. She was clinging to me on pirates the whole time, I forgot it was a little scary and loud, but I had fun. :)

Lombardi Ranch

Just got back from Lombardi Ranch with Tiffany, Mykala (realising now I have no idea how to spell her name), Connor and Kelsey. We had so much fun, even though it was a blistering 90 degrees! Kelsey enjoys looking at pumpkins, petting animals and long walks thru the corn maze. LOL, I crack myself up at that cheezy line. Too cheap to buy a pumpkin here, Walmarts the place for that! :)

Dana Point with the Bunkers

Sorry for the no posts lately, I lost my camera but just found it. We spent Conference weekend at the Bunker's beach house in Dana Point, so much fun. They have the two cutest kids, Kelsey had so much fun playing with another girl just her size! Most of these pictures are from Balboa Island, I couldn't resist taking pictures of some of the beautiful houses on the island. I also loved how a lot of the homes were already decorated for Halloween, so excited about Halloween!
Anyway, thanks again JJ & TT we had a blast.

Chloe and Tiffany in Cali

Tiffany and her adorable baby girl Chloe came to visit us and we had such a blast. We went to Huntington Beach and had an awesome suite overlooking the beach (thanks to Dougy!). Man it is a lot of work travelling with babies and no husbands!!! We wanted to go to the beach so we walked carrying the girls all the way to the beach from our hotel room, along with towels, lunch, umbrella, diaper bags.... (bottom left pic is our room, see how far the beach is!) I feel like we should win an award for not giving up and arm strength! Kelsey picked up a snail and started putting it in her mouth, it was awesome. Overall, a blast. Thanks again for coming, we already miss you two.

So dainty, did not want to get dirty. Evan and Holly had to shove her hands in the chocolate. Evan really wanted to shove her face in it, but I thought that would be mean. Plus, you know who would be cleaning her up :)

Happy 1st Birthday Kelsey

I can't believe my little muncher is 1!!! This really is her best year so far. She's so easy going and always happy, we just love her to pieces. Crazy to think a year ago I held her in my arms for the first time, an amazing moment.

We're having a little birthday party for her tonight, she'll have cake for the first time! Not only cake but chocolate cake (I'll for sure take pics and post them asap).

Mormon Night...Dodger Stadium

It was Mormon Night at Dodger Stadium last night and we had a blast (minus Kelsey being crazy!). Elder Ballard threw the first pitch. They ended up winning, yay, but we were long gone by then.

Hooded Towel

I just wanted to do a little bit of bragging and show all of you my first sewing project. I made this cute little hooded towel for Kelsey. I didn't know what I was doing so the towel is soooo big it fits me! But whatev its super cute, and I'm sure she'll want to take it to college with her. :)

Evan's Birthday...30!

Evan is now officially out of his 20's! It was kind of a sad birthday for him butI think he'll make it. We had a lot of fun this weekend. A friend from Vegas, Jeanne, came with some of her friends from Ukraine (I can't even pronounce their names so I'm not going to attempt to type them). We went to Zuma beach in Malibu. Then on Saturday we went with Jill and Chris to Ventura Beach, Holly and Justin met up with us as well. On Sunday, Evan's actual birthday, we had friends over for food and cake. Yes, I made the cake and I know it looks like a 5 year old did it but it tasted really good and thats all that mattered...right?! I love you babe, Happy Birthday!

11 months

Kelsey is so fun at 11 months. She's walking, saying "hi" and she finally has teeth! I can't even believe she'll be a year next month, its crazy and sad all at the same time.

Kelsey's Walking!!!

Kelsey started walking last week! It's still not her main choice of transportation but she's doing a good job wobbling back and forth to us. She pushes this wood toy around like a walker, great one less thing to buy! Apparently walking is easier with your mouth open.

Trip to San Diego

Evan had a work conference in San Diego so Kelsey and I got to tag along. It was so much fun. We stayed in this nice hotel overlooking Coronado Bay right by downton Gaslight District. We got to play while daddy worked all day :( . Kelsey and I met up with some people in Del Mar, my hairdresser in Vegas Desiree, Kelsey loved all the attention from her, of course. We all went to a Padres baseball game, a ball came flying at us, hit the girl right behind me! It was sooo scary, it could of seriously hit Kelsey. We had a chance to stop by the San Diego temple, I think its probably the prettiest temple, it looks like a castle and I love how white it is.
We went to this yummy steakhouse Aqua al Due, that I went to in Florence, Italy and they have this amazing blueberry steak, so I was so excited to try it again. So good.
